Lein Applied Diagnostics has recently partnered with Aston University to develop innovative, low cost solutions to the problems associated with aligning portable devices to the human eye. The project combines Lein's measurement expertise with the wealth of experience from both the Ophthalmic and Biomedical engineering research groups at Aston.
"We at Aston are very excited to be working together with Lein towards the development of innovative solutions for the next generation of diagnostic healthcare systems".
Dr. Mark Prince, Aston University.
In January 2008 Lein filed another patent covering its method of measuring glucose non-invasively via the eye. This brings Lein's patent portfolio to a total of six patents.
“As our understanding of the physiology of the eye has grown we have been able to refine our measurement technique to make it ever more efficient. This new patent reflects the rapidly growing technical and clinical expertise within Lein”, said Dan Daly.
